I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation by telephone to help you understand what to expect and determine whether counselling is right for you. If we decide to continue, each session thereafter is 50 minutes, and my fees are £50 per session. I aim to make therapy as accessible and affordable as possible, without compromising on the quality of care you receive.

The sessions can be conducted in-person at my private practice in Grantham, which is designed to create a confidential and supportive space for you to share and explore your thoughts and feelings. It is based in central Grantham with easy parking close by.
Alternatively, if you prefer or require remote sessions, we can also arrange for online sessions through a secure video or audio platform such as Zoom.

Every client's journey is unique, so it's hard to say how many sessions will be required. Some people find that a few sessions help them with a specific concern, while others choose to attend therapy for a longer period of time. Some clients may also return every so often for a "top-up" or if a new challenge arises. Sessions are usually weekly, although some clients prefer fortnightly sessions. Whatever your situation, we can work together to create a plan that suits you best.
-
Your first counselling session is an opportunity to ask any questions you have, talk over any worries about therapy and determine if we would work well together. You'll have time to talk about what you're struggling with at the moment and how you've coped so far. We'll also discuss your goals or hopes for therapy. Towards the end of the session, we'll cover the practicalities of scheduling appointments, fees, and cancellations.
-
In a non-judgmental and supportive environment, we'll explore your challenges and work together to help you gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. With greater clarity and compassion for yourself, you'll be able to respond to life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. By listening deeply and offering guidance, I aim to help you develop new insights and coping strategies.

There are many reasons people come to therapy, and I'm here to help with a wide range of issues, including depression and low mood, anxiety, relationship issues, abuse, grief, personal development, childhood issues, low self-esteem, identity, and many more. If you're struggling with life and can't see how to improve things, therapy can help you gain the clarity and support you need to move forward.
-
Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to me. Everything you discuss in your sessions is completely confidential. In rare circumstances where you or another person may be in danger of serious harm, I will need to inform an outside party. In such cases, we'll discuss the situation in-depth and take every possible step to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

It's perfectly normal to feel unsure or nervous about booking your first counselling session. This might be the first time you've talked about yourself in this way, and it can feel uncomfortable initially. I'll do everything I can to answer any concerns you may have and create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your challenges and goals.

The decision to end counselling is always yours. We'll discuss this together towards the end of our work together, and I'll support you in whatever decision you make. The final session is usually a celebration of the progress you've made and an acknowledgement of the changes you've achieved.
