About me
Welcome
I realised as soon as I began to study counselling that I had found the thing I loved. Over the last 20 years I have been fortunate to work with such a variety of people who have trusted me and allowed me into their lives. The issues that they bring include depression, low self esteem, family problems, relationship issues, self harm, childhood abuse and often a pervading sense of not living life fully.
As I work with my clients, I am struck by the realisation that, despite our different backgrounds, experiences, and fears, we mostly share the same deep-seated desire for love, happiness, and fulfilment. Through counselling, I have witnessed many of my clients move from a place of hopelessness and despair to a place of peace, joy, and opportunity.
My therapeutic approach is primarily person-centred, using CBT and other models when appropriate. I strongly believe that when clients feel safe, heard, and understood in a non-judgmental and confidential setting, they can fully explore their unique situations and start to move forward. As a counsellor, I am here to build a positive and trusting relationship with my clients, offering my support and guidance to help you live your life to the full.
I have always had a passion for helping people. The feeling of being able to support and guide someone towards a better future where they can thrive and reach their full potential, is truly fulfilling. There is no greater feeling than seeing a client begin to realise their self-worth and develop positive self-esteem.
Witnessing a client's transformation is always inspirational , and I am constantly reminded of the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Through my years of counselling, I have come to appreciate the significance of a safe and confidential relationship, where individuals can divulge their innermost struggles and feel heard and understood. It is an honour to hold that space for my clients .

Frequently Asked Questions

Every client's journey is unique, so it's hard to say how many sessions will be required. Some people find that a few sessions help them with a specific concern, while others choose to attend therapy for a longer period of time. Some clients may also return every so often for a "top-up" or if a new challenge arises. Sessions are usually weekly, although some clients prefer fortnightly sessions. Whatever your situation, we can work together to create a plan that suits you best.

Your first counselling session is an opportunity to ask any questions you have, talk over any worries about therapy and determine if we would work well together. You'll have time to talk about what you're struggling with at the moment and how you've coped so far. We'll also discuss your goals or hopes for therapy. Towards the end of the session, we'll cover the practicalities of scheduling appointments, fees, and cancellations.

I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation by telephone to help you understand what to expect and determine whether counselling is right for you. If we decide to continue, each session thereafter is 50 minutes, and my fees are £50 per session. I aim to make therapy as accessible and affordable as possible, without compromising on the quality of care you receive.

It's perfectly normal to feel unsure or nervous about booking your first counselling session. This might be the first time you've talked about yourself in this way, and it can feel uncomfortable initially. I'll do everything I can to answer any concerns you may have and create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your challenges and goals.
