First Step

Realising that we can’t sort out what we are going through on our own. Recognising that the same thoughts are going round and round in our heads with no solution.

What can I expect ?

Speaking to someone who is listening to you without judgement and striving to really understand what life is like for you is the beginning of the therapeutic relationship.

Some Kind Words From Some Of My Happy Clients

  • "I’ve had therapy before but I don’t feel like I connected to the therapist the way I did with Buick, the way she was able to help me change my thought patterns and give me the tools to help in such a short time was amazing. Before these sessions I felt like there was no hope, I was always doom and gloom, after our 2nd session I knew there was a light at the end of such a traumatic tunnel and by the 5th session I felt like I was stood in the light ready to reach out and grab it and become the best version of myself . Thank you so much for what you have helped me through."

  • "I didn’t think I was the kind of person who would ever go to a counsellor. I was worried I would say the wrong thing or not be able to get my words out. I had no idea what to expect. From the initial phone call with Buick, I felt reassured. Our sessions together were such a surprise – I began to look forward to them! Friends and family noticed a difference in me and described me as lighter, happier and more confident. It has helped me so much and I would recommend anyone to give it a go!"

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation by telephone to help you understand what to expect and determine whether counselling is right for you. If we decide to continue, each session thereafter is 50 minutes, and my fees are £50 per session. I aim to make therapy as accessible and affordable as possible, without compromising on the quality of care you receive.

  • Your first counselling session is an opportunity to ask any questions you have, talk over any worries about therapy and determine if we would work well together. You'll have time to talk about what you're struggling with at the moment and how you've coped so far. We'll also discuss your goals or hopes for therapy. Towards the end of the session, we'll cover the practicalities of scheduling appointments, fees, and cancellations.

  • In a non-judgmental and supportive environment, we'll explore your challenges and work together to help you gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. With greater clarity and compassion for yourself, you'll be able to respond to life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. By listening deeply and offering guidance, I aim to help you develop new insights and coping strategies.

  • Your counselling sessions will take place in a warm and welcoming environment that prioritises your comfort and confidentiality. The sessions can be conducted in-person at my private practice in Grantham, which is designed to create a safe and supportive space for you to share and explore your thoughts and feelings. Alternatively, if you prefer or require remote sessions, we can also arrange for online sessions through a secure video or audio platform such as Zoom.

  • Yes, there is a car park very close to my practice. The cost at the time of writing is £1.20 for 3 hours and you can pay with cash or card.
